New Document Released For Construction Industry
New guidance on fire safety will play a vital role in ensuring that those working in the construction industry are safe from harm, a leading workplace injury expert has claimed.
The Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE’s) decision to launch the new Fire Safety in Construction document has been welcomed by David Urpeth of Irwin Mitchell, who said that it will ensure more is done to protect staff in the construction industry from injury.
According to the HSE, the document is relevant to all construction projects and is aimed at ensuring everyone involved in the management of sites is aware of how they can comply with legal duties.
Welcoming the new report, work accident lawyer David Urpeth said: “The construction industry is one of the most dangerous sectors when it comes to injuries, so it is good news that authorities are working hard to tackle the issue of fire safety.
“Guidance like this can ensure not only that companies are complying with standards, but also that everyone who goes to work on such projects is able to go back home safely at the end of the day.”
“Health and safety must always be at the top of the agenda for employers and this document should help them reach that target.”
