Up To 20 People Hurt In Incident
A personal injury lawyer at Irwin Mitchell has warned authorities to work quickly to provide answers as to why around 20 people were injured at a fireworks display in Leighton Buzzard.
Reports from the BBC have revealed that both adults and children were hurt at the organised display in the town, with one 43-year-old woman suffering serious leg injuries, after a firework apparently went out of control.
All of those suffering from burns and cuts as a result of the incident were taken to hospital. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident and injury expert Keith Barrett has called on the authority to work quickly to provide answers as to why many people came to harm.
He said: “While many firework displays will have taken place safely up and down the UK over the past few days, it is still a concern that a few reports in this manner have emerged.
“When twinned with the news that a man was seriously hurt at a display in Sussex, it is clear to see that the safety guidelines for such events are likely to be under much scrutiny.
“I hope that investigations into any injuries at displays are carried out in a swift manner and ensure that no one else faces similar risks in the future.”
