Warwickshire Man Dies Whilst Undergoing Surgery
A pre-inquest review is due to take place on Wednesday 24th February, prior to setting a date for a full inquest, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 43 year old Warwickshire man.
At the time of his death, Luigi Belcuore, known to family and friends as Louis, had been participating in a clinical trial involving knee surgery.
On 20th October 2009, whilst undergoing surgery at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic and District Hospital NHS Trust in Oswestry, Mr Belcuore died.
HM Coroner for Shropshire will hold the pre-inquest review into Mr Belcuore’s death starting at 10.00am on Wednesday 24th February, at the Magistrates Court, Preston Street, Shrewsbury.
Victoria Blankstone, a medical negligence solicitor with law firm, Irwin Mitchell, who is representing Mr Belcuore’s family, said: “Louis was a devoted husband and father to two young daughters. His widow, Penny, who is expecting their third child, very much hopes that the inquest will shed light on the circumstances which led to her husband's tragic death".
