Lawyers at a leading north east firm are celebrating after receiving glowing reviews by leading industry review, the Legal 500.
The North East office of national law firm Irwin Mitchell, based on Grey Street in Newcastle, has been given top rankings in its specialist areas, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence and has been described as a 'hugely personable team' by the Legal 500.
Its regional managing partner, John Davis, says the rankings reflect the firm's outstanding results and commitment to offering a clients-first service.
Partners Mr Davis and Fran Mayes, who lead the firm's neurotrauma and serious injury team, were commended for their work in high-value, complex head and spinal injury claims.
Partner Roger Maddocks, who represents scores of people from the region affected by industrial diseases such as Mesothelioma, was noted for his experience in workplace accident and occupational illness claims
The Clinical Negligence team, led by associate solicitors Angela Kirtley and Jennifer Cawthorne, specialises in fighting for people affected by medical mistakes. It came 'highly recommended' for their work, particularly in birth trauma and high-value cases.
Mr Davis, the firm's regional managing partner, said he was delighted with the results as the firm as a whole was described as providing 'a complete service to clients, offering long-term involvement, support and legal expertise.'
"This is excellent news for Irwin Mitchell as a whole and is testament to the incredibly hard work and dedication of our staff at all levels of the business," he added.
"We set up in the region in March 2003 with a small number of staff and the business has grown every year to become a major player in the region – we are strongly committed to the North East and are looking forward to further success here.
"We deal with a large number of high-value cases, representing people who have been left seriously injured, terminally ill or physically disabled and who often requiring intensive, long-term care.
"No two cases are the same and our results have been built on our clients-first approach, giving everyone we represent the care and attention their cases deserve. The Legal 500 recognised the value of this approach and, once again, we have been ranked at the very top as a result."
