Irwin Mitchell Charity
Thirty school children in Sheffield have been rewarded by law firm, Irwin Mitchell, thanks to their outstanding school attendance rates.
As a prize for arriving at school on time and for having 95 per cent plus attendance records in the spring term, the children, aged 5-10, from Emmaus Primary School, Southend Road, were given a £10 book voucher each delivered by Irwin Mitchell partner David Urpeth.
Mr Urpeth said: "We believe that sponsoring the attendance initiative has proved to be a great way of encouraging kids to stay motivated at school. Initiatives like this are really important in building a child's self esteem and improving their aspirations."
Huw Thomas, Headteacher at the school, said: "The attendance incentive scheme has been a great success with the children and teachers alike. We are delighted that Irwin Mitchell once again agreed to support this initiative.
"Having someone visit from respected businesses such as Irwin Mitchell presents the children with positive role models from the Sheffield business community."
