Death by dangerous driving
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after 19-year-old woman was killed in a car crash.
The collision, between a Vauxhall Corsa and a Ford Mondeo, happened on the A6071 near the Springfield Junction in Cumbria.
Alice Brooks-Taylor, known as Ali, and from Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders, was driving the Corsa and died at the scene.
The other motorist, a 35-year-old man from Berwickshire, was arrested and later bailed. Police are appealing for witnesses.
In a statement, Ms Brooks-Taylor's family said: "Ali was a much-loved daughter who will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her, including her two brothers and two sisters and her boyfriend.
"She had achieved so much in her life and was passionate about the Newcastleton Folk Festival. She was one of the primary organisers for the event."
