British Skiers Hurt in Toulouse Coach Crash

Toulouse coach crash, France

It is very disappointing that there has been yet another coach crash overseas. We have advised numerous victims of previous coach crashes in France, Spain, Germany, USA and elsewhere around the world. Many of our clients have suffered very serious and permanent injuries and had their lives and the lives of their family members severely affected. We have repeatedly called for improved coach and safety measures, to minimise the risk of accidents like this occurring. Clearly more still needs to be done to protect the safety of coach passengers aboard.

Eight British holidaymakers were injured in a coach crash believed to be caused by a speeding driver, two of the injured are critically ill.

The holidaymakers were returning from a week's skiing in Andorra and were travelling on a mountain road when the coach crash happened near Toulouse, South West France.

The most seriously injured were airlifted to hospital; French Police believe that the coach may have been rushing to the airport to catch an early plane to London.

There were believed to be 39 Britons on board the coach, which was registered in Andorra and provided a regular shuttle service to the airport from the Toulouse resort.

A police spokesperson said it was a horrific early morning crash which appears to have been caused by the driver speeding on a treacherously icy road.

We have helped thousands of people to claim millions of pounds of compensation following road traffic accidents abroad. See our Holiday Accidents & Illness Claims page to see how we can help you.
