New Appointment reflects continued move towards more holistic approach
Irwin Mitchell has appointed an in-house counsellor to help clients navigate difficult or emotional situations with a combination of counselling and coaching - further adding to the capability of one of the biggest family law teams in the UK. The service, which was launched in May, will be offered to current clients to start with.
Vicky Lambert is a highly experienced British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited counsellor who has, for the last 14 years, supported private clients and individuals within various organisations. She is passionate about supporting her clients through significant life events and facilitating change and growth. Vicky will be working predominantly online, but will be able to see clients in person at the firm’s newly located Southampton office.
Commenting on her new role Vicky said “I’m delighted to be joining Irwin Mitchell’s national family team.
“Situations I can help with might include domestic abuse, relationship break downs, mental health difficulties or just support with what is a difficult and anxious time for many families. I will also be able to help clients manage stress or anxiety throughout the divorce or mediation process which might involve attending court or facing an ex-partner.
“I am looking forward to enhancing the firm’s client offering and working in an inclusive, supportive and experienced team.”
Expert Opinion
“We often work with clients in navigating difficult or complex family situations. We, as a firm, want to do everything we can to support our clients through what can be an incredibly daunting and emotional time and having an in-house counsellor with the expertise and experience that Vicky does will help us to do just that.
“Often, law firms will refer clients to an external counsellor if they feel they might benefit from the help, but to have this kind of expertise in-house is rare. Ensuring we get the best results for our client doesn’t always mean going to court, and offering Vicky’s support at an early stage of the divorce process may help our clients to see a way through the process via a more amicable route.”
