idverde Completes Acquisition Of Assist Group As UK Expansion Continues
Irwin Mitchell’s Corporate Team Advises On Latest Deal
idverde has completed the purchase of Assist Group, an established provider of grounds maintenance, arboriculture and highway services.
Based in St Helens, Assist has annual sales of £14m and employs 217 people. This acquisition strengthens idverde’s presence in the North West and Midlands, providing a complementary offer to existing clients in both companies and further develops idverde’s extensive national coverage.
idverde is Europe’s leading provider of grounds maintenance services and landscape construction projects. It has a turnover in excess of €500m and employs 5,500 staff throughout France, Holland and the UK.
Within the UK, idverde has over 3,000 directly employed colleagues serving clients both locally and nationally.
Corporate partner Nick Dawson in the Birmingham office of law firm Irwin Mitchell, alongside associate Matt Smith, led the team which advised idverde on the transaction.
“We are delighted to work with idverde on this important deal which once again broadens its UK footprint. Assist Group has performed well in recent years, which in addition to its strong customer-focused ethos, will fit well with the culture of idverde and provide a solid platform for growth.” Nick Dawson - Partner
In February this year, Irwin Mitchell advised idverde on its acquisition of KJT Group in South West England. The team also advised idverde last year on the purchase of Northern Ireland’s leading landscaping and grounds maintenance company, Out There Services.
Doug Graham, CEO at idverde UK commented: “We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues from Assist into the idverde family. The company shares many common values with those of idverde, is forward thinking and has enjoyed impressive growth in recent times. This has resulted in long-term contracts being secured with a number of key high-profile clients”.
