Irwin Mitchell Tops Deals League Table In The South East

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has been named as the most active legal adviser in the South East region during the first nine months of the year.

According to Experian Market IQ, Irwin Mitchell moved to the top of the league table after advising on 25 deals during the period.

Both Irwin Mitchell’s Gatwick and Southampton offices contributed to the number of transactions in the region. Deals included Micheldever Tyre Services’ purchase of Bathwick Tyres and the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s acquisition of Bingham Grange Touring & Camping Park.

The number and value of mergers and acquisitions made in the South East in 2018 is so far lower than it was in the same period in 2017, but according to Experian, there was a significant increase in the number of deals completed during the summer.

Experian added that "there has still been plenty going on" in the region, with half of the top 10 deals made in the South East so far in 2018 announced in the third quarter.

The report said that so far in 2018, infocomms is the busiest sector in the South East deal landscape. Manufacturing was second place by volume.

Nationally Irwin Mitchell has 15 corporate partners and it is currently ranked as the 8th most active UK M&A legal adviser nationally for 2017 in the Experian league tables.
