Cycling Challenge Raises Vital Funds For Rowan
Cambridge-based lawyers have swapped their suits for cycling shorts to raise some vital funds for a local charity which helps people with learning disabilities get involved in art.
Two static bikes were installed in the reception of Irwin Mitchell’s Cambridge office on September 27th, with staff and lawyers taking turns to get pedalling and see if together they could cycle the 266-mile distance between Cambridge and the law firm’s Sheffield office.
The aim of the challenge was to raise vital funds for Rowan, which is the Cambridge office’s designated Charity of the Year for 2018. The charity and arts centre was established in 1984 and gives those with learning disabilities an opportunity to express themselves through the creative arts.
To further boost fundraising for Rowan, staff at Irwin Mitchell have also donated recipes for inclusion in a new recipe book which features special artwork from the charity on the front cover. It is available for £5 a copy.
Commenting on the office’s recent activities, Samantha Shaw, a personal injury expert at Irwin Mitchell, said:
