Irwin Mitchell Attended Highfields School Careers Day
Specialist international personal injury lawyers from Irwin Mitchell’s Birmingham office have been providing young people in Wolverhampton with an insight into a career in law.
Elizabeth Baker and Nadhia Akthar from Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury team attended the event at Highfields Secondary School to offer help and advice to Year 11 pupils considering a career in law.
They were able to offer an insight into the legal sector, as well as providing advice on the route children need to take, in terms of their studies, to achieve a career in law.
Law is a very competitive industry, with over 20,000 students applying to study the subject at degree level every year.
Around 100 students and their parents attended the fair, which was also attended by a variety of businesses from the Birmingham area, public services and universities.
Elizabeth Baker, a specialist International Personal Injury lawyer at Irwin Mitchell, said: “We really enjoyed the event and meeting the students and parents at Highfields. It was great to be able to offer our insight into the legal sector and the best way to go about building a career in the industry.
“Hopefully some of the students will seriously consider a career in law and maybe even at Irwin Mitchell, where they can specialise in a variety of areas of law.”
