Artwork Inspired By The City’s Botanical Gardens
Irwin Mitchell’s Cambridge office is now the proud home to some beautiful artwork created by a local charity and arts centre.
The creation which was unveiled at an event this week, on 10th March, was commissioned for the reception area of the law firm’s newest office in Cambridge.
The artwork was created by students at Cambridge-based Rowan, a charity and arts centre established in 1984, which brings together artists and people with learning disabilities to produce fine artwork and crafts.
Students at Rowan took inspiration from the city’s Botanical Gardens, which are near to the office. The artwork comprises a series of individual painted canvases depicting plants and flowers found in the Gardens which are combined to create one large piece of art. All the artists involved in the creative process went on various day trips to the Gardens to take sketches and gain inspiration before creating the final masterpiece.
Expert Opinion
The new artwork is fantastic and we are very proud that we were able to support such a great local charity by commissioning the work. The piece has pride of place in the reception area of our offices allowing everyone who visits to enjoy the beautiful paintings. Students at Rowan also produced a book diarising the progress of the artwork from idea’s stage through to completion.
“It has been great for us to work with Rowan, which is a brilliant local organisation which provides so much support and resource to the community here in Cambridge. We look forward to working with Rowan in the future.”
