Serious Injury Lawyers Show Their Support To Brain Injury Charity
South West law firm Irwin Mitchell is supporting Headway Cornwall which offers advice and support to brain injury and stroke survivors, their families and carers.
Headway Cornwall, based in the Lostwithiel and Scorrier areas of the county, hold weekly activity and support centres for their service users. These sessions are tailored to individual’s needs where the aim is to promote self-confidence, self-esteem and increase quality of life.
Irwin Mitchell’s support comes at a time when local authority finding cuts have proven challenging for the charity.
The funds provided will help with additional key rehabilitation therapies to help Headway Cornwall’s service users; including massage, music, art & crafts, ARNI physical exercise classes, reminiscence workshops and cognitive therapy.
Expert Opinion
“Headway Cornwall provides a vital service to those who have suffered a brain injury and their families, not only for the support they receive but for the opportunity to meet others living with the same condition, giving them the opportunity to talk about their feelings with someone who understands.
“We have seen first hand that for many of our seriously injured clients, early rehabilitation is crucial to improving their prospects of a better recovery. However, local authority cuts have been threatening Headway Cornwall's ability to provide support, so it has never been more important to raise awareness.
“At Irwin Mitchell we are delighted to be able to support and donate funds in aid of such a great cause and we look forward to supporting them in their continued provision of services in the Cornwall area.”
