Irwin Mitchell Staff Host Fundraising Event For Charity Partner
Staff at Irwin Mitchell in Cambridge are holding a sponsored bikeathon to cap off a year of fundraising for their charity partner of 2015, Magpas Helimedix.
The team has been raising money for Magpas, who use a helicopter and fast response vehicle to provide critical care to patients before they reach a hospital, across the East Anglia region, all year.
To end their 12 months of fundraising for Magpas the team are all taking part in a static bike ride in the office, on Wednesday 9 December, between 10am-4pm.
The ambitious group are endeavouring to match some of the distances the Helimedix have had to travel to reach patients on their call outs.
Around 30 members of Irwin Mitchell staff and Magpas representatives will be taking turns to cycle on the two bikes.
Over the year Irwin Mitchell staff in Cambridge, organised by solicitor Alexander Davenport and paralegal Robert Shorrock, have attended a charity ball, donated two fully kitted paramedic safety packs, held numerous bake-offs and dress down days, undertaken the Three Peaks challenge and three sponsored sky dives in aid of Magpas.
Those wanting to support the riders are invited to visit main reception at Francis House, 112 Hills Road, Cambridge to watch the event take place.
Head of Fundraising at Magpas, Debbie Florence: “The Irwin Mitchell team have been fantastic over the year with their enthusiastic and innovative fundraising efforts.
“Magpas relies entirely on public funding, and it’s thanks to corporate support like Irwin Mitchell’s that means we can continue to provide lifesaving care by land and air, 24/7.
“We’re really looking forward to joining them on the day of their cycling fundraiser.”
Money for the event will be collected via donations on the day or online at http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/IMCambridge
