Medical Negligence Experts Instructed To Represent the Family and Investigate His Care
A two-day inquest is due to begin on 28th April 2015 after a 44-year-old electrician who required 1:1 observation was left unattended and able to take his own life at a London Hospital.
Rory Magill, from Uxbridge in London, was admitted to Hillingdon Hospital on 12th June 2013 following a suicide attempt. He was assessed by a psychiatric nurse who deemed Rory to require 1:1 observation to ensure his safety. The nurse assigned to observe Rory on a 1:1 basis went on her break and the care was not handed over to another nurse. Having been left unattended, Rory sadly hanged himself on 13 June 2013.
The inquest into Rory’s death is due to take place at Fulham Coroner’s Court on 28 and 29 April with HM Senior Coroner for West London, Mr Chinyere Inyama. Rory’s wife, Anita Magill will be attending the hearing along with an expert medical negligence lawyer from Irwin Mitchell.
Expert Opinion
"Rory’s family have been completely devastated by his unexpected death and this has been an extremely difficult time for them.
“Rory was a much loved husband and father and his family hope that the inquest will provide answers to the many questions they have about the circumstances leading to his death.”
