Appointment Continues Firm’s Investment In Its Expanding Transaction Team
By David Shirt
The Sheffield office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has appointed corporate solicitor, Ian Chambers, from Addleshaw Goddard in Leeds.
Ian, who studied law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at Sheffield University, specialises in advising businesses on acquisitions, disposals, mergers and restructuring. He works with both small and medium-sized organisations across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, retail and financial services.
He is the latest member of Irwin Mitchell’s fast-growing corporate department in Sheffield and his appointment follows the organisation’s recent recruitment of senior deal-makers Andrea Cropley from Nabarro and Matt Ainsworth from DLA Piper.
Commenting on his decision to join Irwin Mitchell, Ian said: “Irwin Mitchell has an established corporate team, but it is clearly ambitious for further growth. The appointments last year of Andrea Cropley and Matt Ainsworth, along with banking specialist, Dean Gormley, signalled the firm’s future intention. I look forward to working with them and helping Irwin Mitchell continue building market share in the commercial market place.”
Recent deals that the Irwin Mitchell team in Sheffield has advised on include HLM Architects’ strategic investment in Llewelyn Davies, Fox Wire’s multi-million pound finance deal with HSBC and Finance Yorkshire, and the MBO at £15m turnover business, Acorn Web Offset.
