Investigation Into 'Incident Involving Dough Machine’
By Rob Dixon
An investigation has been launched after a five-year-old boy suffered a serious hand injury when he reportedly became caught in a dough-making machine at a pizza shop in Solihull.
Reports have revealed that the youngster suffered the injuries on Sunday night (March 17th) when his hand became trapped in the rollers of the system.
He was taken to hospital following the incident, after the emergency services were able to cut his hand free from the machine.
David Urpeth, a Partner at Irwin Mitchell who specialises in helping victims of accidents in public places to get answers and justice over the problems, said there were clear concerns over the incident.
He outlined: “This news is clearly worrying and there are many questions to be answered as to how this youngster came to be not only in close proximity to this machine but also how his hand became caught in it.
“Through our work, we see every day the life-changing injuries which people can suffer in accidents involving machinery and it is vital that lessons can be learned from this which will ensure that the same circumstances are not repeated in the future.
“Everything must be done to ensure that this simply does not happen again.”
