Leeds Office Supports Charity

Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office is proud to be hosting the “Wellington Place Grand Christmas Light Switch On” next week in aid of a local special needs support charity.

Guests at this year’s Christmas Market themed event (5pm Thursday 2nd December 2010) will have the opportunity to eat, drink and buy last minute Christmas presents from one of the many market stalls. There will also be the chance to enjoy Christmas songs from a brass band quartet and a performance from Leeds Comets Majorettes Troupe. In addition to this, there will be some very special guests including Ronnie the Rhino (Leeds Rhinos) and stars from the West Yorkshire Playhouse production of A Christmas Carol.

All friends and relatives of Wellington Place occupiers are welcome to come and enjoy a Christmas BBQ, mulled wine, a fairground side show and free festive face painting for children. All proceeds will be going to SNAPS (Special Needs and Parent Support), a voluntary organisation run by families with children with disabilities.

David Knaggs, Regional Managing Partner at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds, said: “We are very excited to be hosting this year’s event at Wellington Place in aid of such a worthy cause as SNAPS. I believe it will be a truly festive affair that will get everybody into the Christmas spirit.”

Raffle tickets will be on sale with prizes including £500 of vouchers to spend at a store of your choice, Harvey Nichols vouchers, an M&S Case of Wine, VIP Tickets for 4 people at Doncaster Races and a meal for two at The Midnight Bell.

The Wellington Place Christmas Light Switch on will be held at 5pm on 2nd December. 

Earlier this year, Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office named local charity SNAPS as its office charity of the year. SNAPS gives opportunities and support for children and families, offering hydrotherapy swimming sessions, dance classes, speech and language sessions and a summer school.  The charity isn’t government funded so relies on donations and lottery grants.
