Commercial Property, Leeds
The Commercial Property team at Irwin Mitchell's Leeds office swapped high rise developments for the heights of the Dales as they completed the demanding Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The seven-strong group reached the summit of the three highest points in the region in less than 12 hours on Saturday (June 13th) to raise over £1,250 for the Martin House Children's Hospice in Boston Spa.
The idea for completing the 24.5 mile Yorkshire Three Peaks walk – which takes in the Whernside, Pen-y-ghent and Ingleborough mountains – follows on from a charity bike ride along the length of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal in 2007.
Never afraid to shirk a challenge, three of the group are now preparing to complete the Leeds 10k on June 21st.
Partner John Flathers said: "Walking up the Three Peaks in a day is just as demanding as you would expect but was a terrific experience for all of us.
"There are one or two blisters being nursed among the team but the view from each summit and helping such a great cause make it all worthwhile."
Martin House corporate fundraiser Julie Henderson said: “We’re very grateful for the effort put in by the Irwin Mitchell Commercial Property team. Fund raising like this goes a long way to generating the £3.9 million a year we need to provide vital care and support for so many local children and their families."
As well as John Flathers, the seven walkers were associates Julie Perkins and James Knowles, solicitors Claire Malone, Jennifer Kirkhope and Patrick Sheehan and secretary Kirsty Walker.
