Unfair Dismissal Compensation
The Restaurant chain Akbars must pay Fiaz Kahn, 21, a former waiter unfair dismissal compensation for the chain after a Bradford employment tribunal heard evidence of breaches in employment practice.
The tribunal heard that Mr Kahn had complained about the practices which resulted in his unfair dismissal.
The tribunal accepted that the waiter had to pay a customer's bill if they left without paying, had their pay deducted for minor disciplinary offences, that any tips received were not divided equally and that no proper employment contracts were offered.
A spokesman for the restaurant said after the hearing they weren't represented at the hearing because they thought is dispute had already been resolved; the restaurant denied all the allegations.
