Upcoming events:

  • We will be holding the annual Scottish Neurological Innovations Conference in 2014, in partnership with Neural Pathways on 16th April 2013 at the University of Glasgow – details to follow.
  • We are in the process of updating the Headway Directory of Care Services for Glasgow and we are compiling an Edinburgh Directory of Care Services so that more information and support is easily
    available for people with a brain injury.

What else have we done?

  • Irwin Mitchell were proud to sponsor the first Scottish Head Injury Forum (SHIF), in Edinburgh, titled ‘A family affair’ on Friday 19th April 2013.
  • The Child Brain Injury Trust hosted a family day in the Irwin Mitchell Glasgow office on Saturday 13th April. We also held further training days, one of which took place on Thursday 12th September.
  • In May, we sponsored the first Scottish conference with Child Bereavement UK and look forward to working closely with them again in the future.
  • Partner and serious injury specialist, Elaine Russell, helped raise over £1,650 for Meningitis Trust on Saturday 3rd August 2013 by braving the cold Scottish waters in a sponsored open water one mile swim. Leslie Wallace, occupational therapist from the Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow, also took part.
  • Our annual drinks reception this year was held on 19th September at the Millennium Hotel in Glasgow City Centre. The event was a great success and the dance moves of some guests were even better! £290 was raised for our charity of the year, Maggie’s Cancer Care through a raffle held on the evening.
