Biography
I am a solicitor in the Court of Protection team in the Bristol office. I specialise in managing the property and financial affairs of people who are not capable of doing so themselves due to a brain injury.
As well as the day to day management of an individual’s property and financial affairs, my role also includes preparing applications to the Court of Protection for the appointment of a Property and Financial Affairs Deputy (both lay and professional) and Statutory Wills.
I also work closely with our Personal Injury and Medical Negligence teams to provide litigation support from a Court of Protection perspective. This includes managing interim payments for clients when a claim is still on going.
What inspired you to get into law?
I wanted to help people and make a difference.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I enjoy having the opportunity to build long term relationships with clients and their families. When you work in Court of Protection you play a huge part in that person’s journey to regaining independence and stability following their injury and so, if I am able to assist in making the journey easier in any way, then that is very rewarding.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I like that Irwin Mitchell’s culture is very much aimed at giving back to the community, striving for equality throughout the work place and they provide us with the opportunity to support local charities.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy cycling, reading, photography and travelling.
