Biography
I qualified as a Solicitor in September 2023, and I currently work in the Court of Protection team at Irwin Mitchell.
I work with a wide range of clients, who have been deemed to lack capacity to manage their property and financial affairs. I liaise with multiple third parties including therapists and case managers, as well as my client's and their family to enable day-to-day management of their matter.
I have experience with a wide range of Court of Protection applications, including applications to appoint a deputy as well as supplemental application to vary deputy authorities.
As part of my role, I have particular knowledge and experience in management of HR and employment issues which may arise on client matters.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The people. Everyone you encounter at Irwin Mitchell is kind, friendly and welcoming. The Court of Protection team is one of the best in the country, and I am honoured to work amongst some of the best practitioners in the country.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I really enjoy the relationships which are built with clients. In the Court of Protection, you often work with client's over their lifetime, and it's amazing to see what they are able to achieve.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always been interested in the legal system and legislation, given how central it is to our lives. I am also passionate about helping people and making a difference, and pursuing a career in law appeared to be the most effective way to ensure I could do this.
What do you do away from the office?
When I am not in the office, you will usually find me in the gym. I typically spend my down time either preparing for or competing in fitness events, such as Hyrox, ATHX and Turf Games. I also enjoy spending time outdoors (usually with my four-legged furry friend).
