Biography
I'm a solicitor in the Manchester Court of Protection team. I am responsible for dealing with the day-to-day management of deputyship files.
I work for a wide range of clients who lack mental capacity to manage their own property and affairs. I support my clients with the goals they wish to achieve as well as tasks in their daily life. I pride myself on delivering the best client service to my clients and work collaboratively with other experts and rehabilitation experts to do so.
I also have experience in employment and HR advice to clients and their families where they have directly employed their own care team.
What inspired you to get into law?
I had an idea I'd like to be a lawyer from a young age. I enjoyed listening to political arguments and questioning why particular decisions were made. With a keen eye for detail, this made me more intrigued in the legal world and being able to make difference to someone else’s life no matter how small it may seem.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding part of my role is when a client has been able to do something they never thought they could achieve. Whether that be, moving house or going on a holiday with their family.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I enjoy working at Irwin Mitchell because the people genuinely care about the people we act for. In turn they care about their employees and offer practical benefits such as flexible working.
What do you do away from the office?
Away from the office, I like to spend as much time with family and friends as I understand time is so precious and life can change very quickly.
