Expert Asbestos-Related Disease Lawyers Investigating Exposure To Asbestos
A retired Bristol City Council painter and decorator is appealing to his former colleagues for help after he was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an incurable cancer of the lungs caused by exposure to asbestos decades ago.
Pete Robson, 73, from Longwell Green, Bristol was diagnosed with the disease in February 2015 and believes he was exposed to asbestos dust and fibres during his employment with the local council.
He has instructed expert asbestos-related disease lawyers at Irwin Mitchell to investigate exactly how and where he was exposed to the deadly dust and fibres while working for Bristol City Council, where he spent most of his working life.
Pete told his legal team at Irwin Mitchell that he was part of the Area 7 gang, which was based in Bedminster, Bristol and he is now appealing to his former colleagues to come forward with information about the presence of asbestos at the sites they worked on and what measures, if any, were in place to prevent his exposure to the asbestos dust and fibres that have caused his mesothelioma.
Leanne Leighton, an expert asbestos-related disease lawyer at Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office representing him, said:
Pete, a grandfather-of-six, said: “The diagnosis came as a complete shock to myself and my wife, Mavis, and we are extremely concerned about what the future holds for us as the disease develops.
“To find out that my illness was caused by exposure to asbestos while I was simply going to work every day for 25 years is difficult to come to terms with.
“Nothing will make up for what I’m going through now, but hopefully my former work colleagues in the Area 7 gang will come forward and provide the information my legal team needs about the presence of asbestos at the sites we worked at, or the protection in place to prevent us from being exposed to the substance.”
