Mr Flynn was a rear seat passenger in a car which was involved in an accident, resulting in a collision with a tree this left Mr Flynn with serious injuries.
During the crash Mr Flynn was knocked unconscious and subsequently taken to the Dorset Hospital where he was diagnosed as having sustained a serious fracture to the right femur, significant blow to the head resulting in lacerations and concussion.
Mr Flynn was unable to return to his pre-accident employment in the Army and in fact did not return to any work and was subsequently discharged from the Army on medical grounds in December 2003.
