Irwin Mitchell Advise On Deal For Webb Training Services
The Irwin Mitchell corporate team has advised waste management specialists Reconomy on the acquisition of a Birmingham based training services provider that is set to expand the firm’s social value programme.
Webb Training Services boasts a network of training centres across the West Midlands, providing over 50 courses on health and safety, construction, plant operation and first aid.
Irwin Mitchell corporate partner Emma Callow and associate Matt Smith advised Reconomy on the deal for an undisclosed sum.
One of the UK’s leading providers of waste management services, this is Telford based Reconomy’s fifth acquisition in the last 12 months, with Irwin Mitchell also advising on the firm’s acquisition of Casepak at the end of 2021.
Reconomy Group works with thousands of businesses, from SMEs to blue chip firms, helping them manage resources and deliver their sustainability objectives. With Webb Training Services on board, the firm is set to boost Reconomy’s Recycle division, supporting initiatives to find routes into employment for people from hard-to-reach backgrounds.
Mike Benton, operations director at Reconomy Group, said: “Training and development are of paramount importance to us and we recognise the skills challenges being faced by our core sectors.
“As the UK continues to build back following the pandemic, we believe that Webb’s will be a great addition to the group and further enhance our offer to customers, while also allowing us to accelerate our commitments as part of the Reconomy social value programme.”
