Irwin Mitchell Shows Regional Commitment With New Southampton Office Designed For Hybrid Working
More than half of Irwin Mitchell’s new Southampton office is designated as collaborative meeting spaces as the Firm continues to embrace its Flexible By Choice hybrid working arrangements long term.
Irwin Mitchell has moved into One Dorset Street which will act as a South Coast hub linking colleagues in the city with neighbouring offices in Chichester, Reading and Gatwick bringing the firm’s full service offer to the region which provides legal and financial advice for both individuals and businesses.
The investment signals Irwin Mitchell’s continued commitment to the region.
The new office layout has been developed to support different ways of working with the Firm adopting a Flexible by Choice approach last year where colleagues choose where they wish to work subject to client requirements.
Irwin Mitchell’s One Dorset Street space has half of its floorplan designed to encourage collaboration and engagement with a variety of different work spaces for colleagues, different options for meeting with clients with a mixture of informal and formal spaces and a large open area for community engagement.
Expert Opinion
“The events of the past two years have made us think carefully about what our clients and colleagues want from an office. As a full-service legal business, we are committed to serving the needs of our communities and this is best achieved with a strong regional presence. Our new office has been designed with a clear purpose – to bring us together, to collaborate and provide a positive, flexible working environment.” Guy Darlaston - Partner & London Head of Asbestos and Occupational Disease
Expert Opinion
“One Dorset Street builds on the success of our previous Birmingham and Manchester moves which had been designed to support new ways of working. As many of us work in a much more ‘hybrid’ way, splitting our days and weeks between offices, homes, with clients and in other locations – our offices will evolve to reflect changing needs.
“Southampton is an example of the blueprint we’ve been developing for how our offices will look and work for us – informed by the changing needs of our clients, colleagues and communities. We’ll have more opportunities to develop this in other locations as leases come up for renewal in several of our offices over the next couple of years.” Sarah Ball - Director of Operations
