Bruce Macmillan Appointed To Irwin Mitchell Board As General Counsel
Irwin Mitchell has appointed the experienced lawyer Bruce Macmillan as General Counsel.
Macmillan, who will sit on the Irwin Mitchell board as well as risk and audit committees, was previously a founder Director of the RPC Centre for Legal Leadership and becomes the latest senior hire for Irwin Mitchell, adding to the three other partners who have also joined the Group since the start of 2018.
Macmillan is a former City lawyer with experience working for multinationals, start-ups, private equity turnarounds and the public sector. Drawing on that extensive experience as an in house lawyer, he mentors and coaches other in house lawyers and assists with education on the operational and personal development parts of their roles.
Looking ahead to his time with Irwin Mitchell, he said: “I’m delighted to be joining what I believe to be the most interesting firm in the current market and one which has real opportunities for further development. This is a fascinating role for me at a fascinating time for the business and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Last month, Irwin Mitchell announced the promotion of more than 100 associates and senior associates and it also recruited 17 new partners in 2017 across its legal and support teams.
