The Creative Worker visa route is a temporary immigration route available for individuals who wish to work or perform in the creative sector in the UK, which includes artists, dancers, musicians, actors, entertainers and social media influencers.

Key requirements and considerations

  • Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) – You must have a CoS from an approved sponsor to fill an eligible role, i.e., a role that will make a unique contribution to the UK’s rich cultural life in line with the Home Office’s specifications
  • Role – You must not fill a permanent role, even on a temporary basis
  • Compliance with UK laws – The role must comply with National Minimum Wage and the Working Time Regulations
  • Genuine intentions – You must genuinely intend and be able to do the role for which you are being sponsored

Frequently Asked Questions

The Creative Worker visa can be granted for a maximum of 12 months and in some cases can be extended for a further 12 months. The Creative Worker visa does not however, lead to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), i.e., permanent residence.
