Expert legal support for industrial disease claims

If you developed an illness at work through your employer’s negligence, we can help you claim compensation.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, your employer has a legal duty of care to protect you from harm while at work.

This might include providing personal protective equipment (PPE), training, and giving you enough breaks. If they fail in their duty of care, it can have life-changing and even fatal consequences.

We understand the devastating consequences your employer’s negligence can have on you and your family. We’re here to uncover what went wrong and help you move forward.

Six-figure compensation for industrial disease – Robert’s story

Robert

Our Client

Robert worked at a scrap metal merchant company in the 1980s. The warehouse he worked in was dirty and dusty from tonnes of metal being crushed daily. Ventilation was poor and Robert hardly ever got to work outside. Part of Robert’s job was to test scrap for beryllium using a hand-held blow torch. This exposed him to high amounts of metal fumes and dust, and he eventually developed a lung disease called berylliosis. Our industrial disease solicitors successfully secured Robert a six-figure compensation settlement for exposure to beryllium dust at work. This helped cover Robert’s care needs and medical equipment and reflected income he lost in the years he couldn’t work. Now, his focus is moving forward and supporting himself and his family.
