I'm a Partner in the Military team, with over 20 years experience of acting for clients with serious personal injuries. I have significant experience in dealing with applications under both the Criminal Injuries Compensation scheme, but more particularly the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. I have a special interest in representing members of the Armed Forces and a determination to ensure that each and every soldier secures the settlement to which they are entitled under the AFCS.
What inspired you to get into law?
Growing up in a family of lawyers I was aware that the right representation could change lives and the chance to do that was never an opportunity that I was going to miss.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The satisfaction of fighting for an individual, and succeeding against a system that can be overwhelming at a time that is often difficult enough, relieving the stress of a situation and achieving the correct outcome sometimes against the odds.
What do you like to do away from the office?
I take piano lessons, sing in a choir and enjoy dancing lessons. I am a keen amateur baker and have won competitions. I'm also a trained volunteer crisis helpline counsellor at NSPCC Childline.
"It goes without saying that Amanda and her team really know their stuff. Its been a long battle, but without Amanda and her team at Irwin Mitchell, I would not have got the results that I got. From the first time speaking to Amanda, I was made to feel at ease and was able to tell her things that I had been holding back for many years. I am so happy to have had Irwin Mitchell represent me as I feel Amanda and the team really had my best interests at heart. Not once did anyone on the team doubt me and I will always be truly grateful for the support that I have received." - 5* Trustpilot review
"The dedication shown by Amanda to not just our cause, by soldiers like my husband is beyond words. I could not recommend them highly enough. The emotional support and understanding provided by them ensured we felt 'heard' and understood – we felt like we had someone behind us who truly empathised with our plight."
