Irwin Mitchell is using its King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade as a launchpad for further international growth after completing major cross-border deals and securing recognition in key markets.
Announced in May, the award was formally presented to Group Chief Executive, Craig Marshall, and Head of International, Bryan Bletso, on 1 October. It recognises the firm’s sustained international growth and work supporting overseas businesses investing in the UK.
Since the announcement, Irwin Mitchell has advised Swedish education group Eduviva on its acquisition of TTS for an enterprise value of up to £53.5 million and US-based Taoglas on its acquisition of UK company Sure Antennas.
The firm also advised Eezy Group on the sale of Lyphe Group to US-headquartered Tilray Brands.
Irwin Mitchell’s growing India practice has received further recognition, with the firm again named in the India Business Law Journal list of Top Foreign Law Firms. The ranking reflects its continued India-related work, particularly within the financial services sector.
International work now represents more than 10% of Irwin Mitchell’s total revenue, reflecting growing demand for cross-border and specialist advice from businesses and private clients.
The firm has also published its latest Investor Confidence Index with Cebr. The Index assesses 48 UK locations against ten economic indicators covering growth potential, local skills and local infrastructure.
Irwin Mitchell is now pursuing further opportunities across the US, Europe, India, Asia and the Middle East through its international relationships and networks.
Bryan Bletso, Head of International at Irwin Mitchell, said:
“The formal presentation of the King’s Award was a proud moment and an opportunity to recognise the contribution of colleagues across the firm.
“Since the award was announced, we have continued to build on that success through major cross-border transactions, stronger international relationships and further recognition in important markets.
“Our latest Investor Confidence Index also highlights the distinct strengths and opportunities across the UK.
"Understanding those differences is increasingly important for international businesses deciding where to invest, establish operations and pursue growth.
“The King’s Award is a launchpad for the next phase of our international growth. We see exciting opportunities ahead as we deepen relationships in key markets and help more clients achieve their ambitions in the UK and overseas.”
