Recognition highlights firm’s continued focus on colleague engagement and culture

22/05/2026

Irwin Mitchell has been recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 in the “Very Big” organisation category, marking the second consecutive year the firm has received the prestigious accolade.

Powered by employee experience platform WorkL, the awards recognise organisations across the UK that demonstrate consistently high levels of employee engagement and workplace satisfaction. Only employers that meet strict engagement criteria are included, placing Irwin Mitchell among a select group of leading organisations nationally.

The recognition reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to building a supportive, inclusive and high-performing culture for its colleagues across the UK.

Craig Marshall, group chief executive at Irwin Mitchell, said:

“Being named by The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s Best Places to Work for the second-year running is something we’re incredibly proud of.

“This recognition is particularly meaningful because it is based on feedback from our colleagues. It reflects the emphasis we place on creating an environment where people feel supported, valued and able to develop their careers.

“We know that our people are central to the service we deliver to our clients, and we remain focused on continuing to strengthen our culture as we grow.”

The Sunday Times Best Places to Work awards are based on detailed employee surveys, assessing engagement across areas including reward and recognition, wellbeing, leadership, job satisfaction and empowerment.

Irwin Mitchell continues to invest in initiatives that support colleague wellbeing, career development and inclusion, as part of its broader strategy to attract and retain talent across its national network of offices. The firm recently promoted 100 colleagues in its latest annual round and 75% of the new Partners trained at Irwin Mitchell.

The firm has focused its growth strategy on its core legal services in the past 18 months, selling its debt recovery business, Ascent, and its financial planning business IM Asset Management to simplify the business.

It has also successfully expanded regionally with its newest offices in Nottingham, Brighton, Liverpool and Cardiff all moving into larger spaces. Irwin Mitchell also moved to a new office at The Northcliffe in London and will move its largest office in Sheffield to new space later this year.
