Twelve Local Charities Benefit From Latest IMCF Grants
The Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF) is proud to announce the 12 charities across the UK selected to receive funding grants of up to £20,000 each, in 2025.
The IMCF is an independent charity established by employees of the law firm Irwin Mitchell to create positive social impact in the communities it serves. Thanks to the generosity of Irwin Mitchell and its colleagues who donate via the firm’s Give As You Earn scheme, the IMCF has donated over £4m to good causes since 1997.
In 2023, the IMCF launched a new initiative to donate grants to small local charities. Over the past three years, more than £557,000 has been paid out in grants by the IMCF to 36 recipients as part of the project.
The latest round of donations totalled over £235,000 and will fund vital projects across the UK to build employability skills and widen access to justice, two of the areas identified by stakeholders of Irwin Mitchell as where it can create the greatest impact.
In December, colleagues across Irwin Mitchell were invited to nominate local charities close to their hearts. With over 70 nominations received, the IMCF Trustees and internal teams undertook a rigorous review process to select the final recipients.
The 2025 IMCF Fund grant recipients are:
- Azure Charitable Foundation
- Birmingham Disability Resource Centre
- Broadlands Group Riding for the Disabled (RDA)
- My Sisters’ House Women's Centre
- North Bristol Advice Centre
- Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland
- Sandwell Asian Family Support (SAFS)
- Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity
- The Snowdrop Project
- Venture Arts
- Weston Park Cancer Charity
- Zarach
The projects being funded range from programmes for people from under-represented groups designed to help build the confidence and skills needed to gain meaningful employment, to case workers and advisors that can provide support to individuals struggling to access their benefits and rights.
Adrian Budgen, Chair of the IMCF said: “We’re incredibly proud of the impact the IMCF grants are making and thankful to our generous colleagues across Irwin Mitchell for providing both their time and money to help good causes across the UK.
“We now look forward to working closely with each charity to understand the outcomes and impact these donations are generating, which we’ll be sharing throughout the year.”
