If you or your child has been abused while attending a sports club, we could help you claim compensation from those responsible.
High profile cases in the media have highlighted abuse at football clubs but child abuse could happen at any kind of sports clubs including tennis clubs, cricket clubs, swimming clubs or rugby clubs. It can also happen at all levels of sport, from local village teams to professional clubs. Even if the abuse happened years ago, you may still be able to claim.
It's perfectly normal to have doubts about making a compensation claim, with worries about facing an abuser in court chief among them. In our experience, the vast majority of claims are settled out of court and we will work hard to achieve an out-of-court settlement in your case. If you do have to appear in court, we'll be there to represent and support you at every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find out more about making a child abuse claim.Abuse can be committed by any employee or volunteer working for a sports club, including coaches, managers, assistants, referees or drivers. It can also be committed by other children attending the club.
Any organisation whose employees have contact with children is responsible for putting measures in place to ensure those children's safety. If it can be shown that the club failed to do this, you might be able to make a claim.
The claim could be brought against the sports club itself, if it was the employer of the abuser. Depending on the evidence, and the nature of the case, there may be scope to claim against the individual responsible for the abuse as well.
In certain circumstances it may also be possible to claim compensation through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority – we will let you know if this applies to your case.
