Biography
I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence department of our Birmingham office. I represent clients who have suffered injuries while receiving care from GPs, NHS Trusts, and private practitioners.
Key Highlights
What inspired you to get into law?
From a young age, I wanted a career where I could impact the lives of others. The idea of being a lawyer was fascinating to me and there was a certain 'wow' factor associated with lawyers growing up. I knew that one day, with lots of hard work, I could achieve that 'wow' feeling for myself. Medical negligence is an area of law where I can make a real difference to the lives of those who have unfortunately suffered traumatic injury. I am grateful to be a face of both hope and help for people in their hour of need.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Medical negligence is a very emotional area of law to practice in and you undoubtedly build special relationships with clients. Because of the personal nature of my role, it makes it particularly rewarding when a positive outcome can be achieved for clients. It is also extremely rewarding to see firsthand the benefit that compensation can bring to clients in, for example, assisting their rehabilitation or future needs.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The team spirit. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful team who are always on hand to offer their advice and support.
What do you do away from the office?
I sit as a co-opted member of the Birmingham Law Society Council, providing my advice on regional issues affecting junior lawyers in the legal profession. Outside of work, my biggest passion is Formula 1. I have been lucky enough to travel to other countries to watch races and my love for cars also led me to becoming a registered marshal. I also enjoy socialising with family and friends, eating good food..
