Biography
I am a Medical Negligence Solicitor based in Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office.
I graduated from Newcastle University before undertaking my Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School in Leeds and training at Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office. While in Sheffield, I also became the Social Responsibility Representative for the Sheffield Junior Lawyers Division.
I run a variety of cases encompassing all aspects of clinical negligence claims including:
- Orthopaedic injuries
- General surgery claims
- GP negligence
- Cancer cases
- Fatal injuries.
I have experience of helping people claim against both the NHS and individual medical practitioners such as GP's, dentists, and private doctors.
As well as running my own caseload, I work with colleagues on their most serious cases, such as brain injuries.
I’m the current Chair of the Manchester Young Solicitors Group supporting junior lawyers across Manchester.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I've had a passion for the law ever since studying it at the age of 16. I also always wanted to do a job that involved helping others. Pursuing a career as a Medical Negligence lawyer seemed to be an obvious fit.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
Securing compensation for clients that you know will hugely improve their lives.
What Do You Like About Working For Irwin Mitchell?
I like being part of a National Team with a wealth of knowledge and resources available at our fingertips. It's also great to work with a like-minded, friendly bunch of people who all have the same objective: to do the best we can for our clients.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
When I get chance, I enjoy travelling and skiing. Back at home, I enjoy going to fitness classes, ice skating, and spending time with my friends and family.
