What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell offers an excellence service to their clients and is somewhere I enjoy working. Having worked at Irwin Mitchell for a number of years, I like the that I have access to the expertise of my colleagues in other departments at Irwin Mitchell.
I am part of Irwin Mitchell’s Diversity & Inclusion Group and have a specific interest in social mobility. Having grown up in a deprived area I aim to raise awareness of routes into law and to support people from low socio-economic backgrounds. I am part of the annual PRIME placements that host students delivering various sessions throughout the week.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is supporting clients through the claim process. I genuinely feel I make a difference, and it is important to get answers which can really help a client process what has happened. When somebody is bringing a legal claim it can be a very difficult and challenging time, and I can offer support throughout the process, as well as raise awareness and contribute to the improvement of medical standards and practice.
What inspired you to get into law?
Whilst studying Law at A-Level, it became clear that this was a potential career that I was passionate about. I have always been drawn to the more “personal” legal areas of law and I am genuinely interested in helping people.
I have always been an analytical thinker so a career as a Solicitor specialising in medical negligence is the perfect fit for me.
What do you do away from the office?
I like to keep active when I am not working through HIT classes, yoga and pilates. If I am not keeping active, you will most likely find me spending time with my partner, friends and family – often enjoying some cocktails and eating out.
