I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence team, based in our London office.
I help clients with a variety of cases including negligent treatment in accident and emergency departments, cancer claims, cerebral palsy, delays in diagnosis, fatal claims and inquests, general medical problems, hospital acquired infections, pregnancy and birth injuries, surgical mistakes and other types of medical negligence.
Before specialising in medical negligence, I previously worked for the firm’s Business Legal Services division and within the Aviation team.
“This new report makes for incredibly worrying reading, as it identifies a host of issues related to the work of the Linden Centre and the NEP in general.
“Families place great faith in mental health services and hope that their loved ones will always access the care and support that they need. Sadly, it appears in these instances there are real concerns about the care provided.
“It is a huge concern to see that these issues are continuing to happen and this has to change quickly. Lessons have to be learned from the problems of the past and everything possible must be done to ensure patients can access a high standard of care.”
“Melanie was a devoted mother to her two children and her family are still reeling from her death.
“The inquest identified a number of failings which were incredibly distressing for Melanie’s family who now know that more could have been done to prevent her death.
“While nothing can change what has happened to Melanie, it is now her family’s greatest wish that lessons are learned from this tragedy to protect other vulnerable people in mental health crisis.
“We are examining the inquest’s findings and advising the family as to the next steps available to them.
