Serious Injury
Birmingham

Chambers and Partners
I'm a Partner in our market-leading International Serious Injury division based in our Birmingham office, representing claimants nationwide, and internationally. I’m Head of our Group Illness team and have particular experience in group action claims and cross-border disputes.
I manage a large team which mostly deals with group actions against UK-based tour operators, or single-party actions against defendants in foreign countries (often working with foreign lawyers). I handle claims involving illness, such as E. coli and Salmonella, and outbreaks on cruise ships. I also handle group action claims relating to illness outbreaks in the UK, as part of the firm’s Public Health team, and my recent cases include the Royal Papworth Hospital water contamination group action.
I specialise in high-value, complex and cross-border personal injury and illness litigation. I’ve acted for individuals and groups in some of the most significant international and domestic incidents in recent years and have recovered many millions of pounds in damages for my clients. My practice includes serious injury, fatal accidents, public health, travel litigation, group actions, jurisdiction disputes, and foreign law claims. My experience notably extends to the USA where, in partnership with American attorneys, I have acted for plaintiffs in various US states.
I’m currently representing people affected in several serious and high-value illness claims including claims relating to Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome and Guillain-Barré Syndrome, which are often initially triggered by bacterial infection, but then cause catastrophic and life-changing consequences.
