Biography

I am a Chartered Legal Executive based in Cambridge, specialising in Deputyship matters and Personal Injury Trusts for clients who are unable to manage their own financial affairs following serious injury or vulnerability.

My role involves advising on deputyship applications to the Court of Protection and supporting the ongoing management of clients’ property and finances, always ensuring decisions are made in their best interests.

I work closely with clients, their families, case managers and other professionals to put practical arrangements in place, including managing compensation funds, paying care and rehabilitation costs and liaising with statutory bodies.

I also advise on complex Personal Injury Trusts and specialist CICA Trusts for clients who have received compensation as a result of personal injury, helping to protect their current and future entitlement to means‑tested benefits. I provide clear, practical guidance throughout, recognising that these matters can feel overwhelming and sensitive.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

I like working at Irwin Mitchell because it is a national law firm with a strong reputation for high‑quality client care. Being part of a national practice allows me to benefit from shared expertise and collaboration across teams, while still providing a personal and client‑focused service.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is being able to make a genuine difference to clients’ lives during what are often very challenging and uncertain times. Supporting clients and their families with deputyship matters and Personal Injury Trusts, and seeing how the right legal arrangements can provide security, stability and peace of mind, is extremely fulfilling. I value building trusted relationships with clients and working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure their long‑term needs are protected.

What inspired you to get into law?

I was drawn to law through my experiences growing up in a working‑class family from an ethnic minority background, where accessing support was often challenging. I regularly acted as a translator in Cantonese and Mandarin to support my family and helped them navigate legal and administrative matters as part of everyday life.

I found real value in being able to support others during difficult situations, and those early experiences shaped my decision to pursue a career in law. I am pleased to be able to use my strong communication skills at Irwin Mitchell, where providing clear, empathetic and practical support to clients is central to the work we do.

What do you do away from the office?

Away from the office, I am a salsa teacher and love spending my time dancing and teaching others. It is a great way to stay active, have fun and help people build confidence, and it is how I like to switch off and recharge.
