Biography
I am a Solicitor based in our Bristol Office, and I work in the Wills, Trust and Estates disputes team. I qualified in January 2025 having undertaken my training contract with a specialist contentious probate firm.
As a team, we deal with claims and disputes that arise in relation to the validity of a Will, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975, trustee and/or executor disputes as well as contentious Court of Protection work and TOLATA (Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act) claims.
Before I moved into this area of law, I worked in a private client team drafting Wills, dealing with estate administration and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney. This gave me an insight into how disputes can arise particularly where there are difficult or more complex family dynamics to take into account.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I like that we can offer a full service to our clients. I think it is really great for client care to be able to introduce them to a colleague who can assist on another legal matter they may need help with.
I also get to work with many brilliant and experienced colleagues who I can continue to learn from.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding part is seeing the client's relief when the dispute has been settled especially if it has been a lengthy and difficult dispute.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted to help people and in this area of law, we help individuals and families resolve disputes often ones that have arisen at an already very difficult time. I started my career in law as a legal secretary and I have worked my way up to my current role. I enjoy the continued learning and challenges that a career in the law offers.
What do you do away from the office?
I spend time with my young family. I like to travel, when I can, and I try to plan my travels around finding new and exciting places to eat.
