Samantha Ewing

I advise and assist clients in resolving will and estate disputes, with a view to finding practical solutions in what are often stressful and emotional circumstances.

I have expertise dealing with:

• Claims concerning the validity of a will due to a lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval as well as due execution or original drafting issues
• Claims for reasonable financial provision (Inheritance Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
• Disputes between executors and beneficiaries or between executors themselves concerning the administration of an estate
• Individuals and professional clients who may be beneficiaries, executors or trustees
• Disputes concerning those who lack capacity such as financial misappropriation and contested statutory will applications.

I trained with and now work alongside my colleague Paula James (Partner) as well as Paula Myers, Partner and Head of the National Will, Trust and Estate Disputes team.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Resolving a claim for a client and bringing to an end the stress and emotional toll that these disputes can often cause. I find bringing a claim to a successful conclusion for a client really rewarding, especially when I’ve helped to uncover and prove the opponent’s wrongdoing.
