Biography

For the last 10 years I have specialised in the recovery of legal costs incurred by our clients during the course of their claims.

As Deputy Team Leader of the Costs Team in Manchester, I provide support in all aspects of the costs process, from preparing a Bill of Costs, negotiating with the opponent through to assessment by the Court if necessary. I also support our Litigation teams by providing advocacy support at Costs Management Hearings.

I am a fully qualified Costs Lawyer and have previously spent 3 years serving on the Council of the Association of Costs Lawyers.

What inspired you to get into law?

I first became interested in the law after taking part in a mock trial competition during school and have never looked back since!

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Achieving great results to maximise recovery for our clients. I also enjoy the cut and thrust of advocacy.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

I am very lucky to work alongside a great team, both as part of the Costs Management Team and the wider firm. A lot of the work we do it is at the cutting edge of the costs field which makes for some exciting and diverse days.

What do you do away from the office?

Away from the office I enjoy getting outdoors and adventuring with my young family.
