Serious Injury
London

5* Trustpilot review
I’m a partner in our Serious Injury team, based in our London office. I help people and families whose lives have been changed by serious injury or bereavement.
I joined the firm as a newly qualified solicitor in 2009 and have specialised in serious injury claims ever since. I work with people who have sustained catastrophic injuries, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, serious orthopaedic injuries and amputation. I also regularly support families and dependants bringing fatal accident claims after the loss of a loved one.

I work with people and families who are facing the consequences of a serious accident or bereavement. Many come to me when life feels uncertain and overwhelming, and they need clear advice, practical support, and reassurance about what happens next.
My role is to make the claim feel as clear and manageable as possible. I explain each stage, answer questions as they arise and help identify any support that may be needed straight away. I want clients to feel reassured that they have someone on their side, while knowing that we are also building the strongest possible claim for compensation.
I’ve secured several multi-million-pound settlements for clients with serious injuries and for families bringing fatal accident claims. In one recent case, I acted for a young cyclist who suffered a catastrophic brain injury after being struck by a car. Liability was denied at first, but a detailed review of CCTV evidence helped show that the driver had been exceeding the speed limit. We later secured a court-approved agreement that liability should be apportioned 70/30 in the claimant’s favour, followed by a £12.8 million settlement.
Interim payments in that case helped fund specialist therapies, care and support after a long hospital admission. The final settlement provided for the client’s lifelong care needs, specialist accommodation, loss of earnings, and future security.
I also secured a £9.6 million settlement for a cyclist who sustained life-changing injuries. After taking over the claim from previous solicitors, I established full liability and obtained interim payments of more than £1.5 million to fund rehabilitation, adapted accommodation, specialist equipment, and care. The settlement also helped the client continue enjoying his passion for travel and sport.
I’ve also secured compensation of more than £5.5 million after a High Court trial in Wilson v Ministry of Justice, acting for a client who sustained a spinal cord injury after being stabbed while working in a prison kitchen.
My fatal accident work includes securing a £1.6 million settlement for the dependants of a young father who was killed in a road traffic collision.
I start by taking time to understand the person behind the claim – what’s happened, how their life has changed, what matters most to them, and what support they may need.
In serious injury and fatal accident claims, the legal issues are only one part of the picture. Clients also need clear guidance, reassurance, and practical help as they navigate a very difficult period.
Wherever possible, I focus on securing early funding so clients can access treatment, rehabilitation, care and support at the right time. This can make a real difference to recovery, independence and quality of life. I also make sure clients understand what we are doing, why we are doing it and what will happen next, so they feel informed and supported throughout.
Every case is different, so I build the claim around the individual client and their family. That means gathering the evidence needed to prove the claim, while always keeping sight of the real-life impact of the injury or bereavement. My aim is to combine strong legal preparation with a clear understanding of what will genuinely help the client move forward.
The first meeting is a chance for us to talk about what’s happened, what support you need, and how I may be able to help. I’ll explain the legal process in clear, straightforward language, answer your immediate questions and talk through the first steps if you decide to work with me.
I can meet you in whichever way is most convenient for you. That may be at your home, in hospital, in one of our offices, or remotely via a phone or video call.
I understand that contacting a solicitor can feel daunting, particularly after a serious injury or bereavement. My approach is to make the first conversation calm, helpful and pressure-free. I’ll listen carefully, explain what information may be useful, and talk you through how we’d begin investigating the claim and identifying any urgent support needs.
My aim is for you to leave the first meeting with a clearer understanding of your options, the likely next steps and how I would support you and your family throughout the claim.
