The Irwin Mitchell and Thomas Eggar merger recently concluded its full integration period at the end of May.

It has transformed the business creating greater value for our clients across a wider range of services and today Irwin Mitchell is ranked as the 11th largest legal business in the UK operating out of 15 locations, with over 300 partners and over 2,800 employees.

The recent launch of Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth, combining the expertise of four specialist teams from Irwin Mitchell, Berkeley Law, Berkeley Hurrell and Thomas Eggar, in one new brand, is the next stage of the journey to creating a market-leading private wealth business.

Irwin Mitchell Private Wealth offers significant strength and depth of bespoke legal and advisory services for private clients; including succession planning, reputation protection, family and divorce, probate and estate administration and town and country property.

We offer significant strength and depth of bespoke legal and advisory services supporting every stage of our clients’ personal, family and business lives, both in the UK and internationally, through our comprehensive and unrivalled Business and Personal Legal services.

The merger has seen the London team of Family experts grow to 12 lawyers, with the additions of Partner, Ursula Danagher, Consultant, Deborah Levy and Solicitors Carmel Brown and Rebecca Harling from Thomas Eggar. The national family team now has recognised family law experts across England in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Chichester, Leeds, London, Manchester, Sheffield and Southampton.

‘The national award winning team has been recognised for its expertise in family law cases including winning the ‘Litigation Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards last month. They have acted on a number of well publicised decisions including the Supreme Court case of Sharland and Gohil in the Autumn of 2015, and the landmark case Roocroft in the Court of Appeal earlier this year.’

The recent merger solidifies the national team’s reach across England with the addition of a family team in Chichester headed up by Ursula Danagher, ably aided by senior associate, Stuart Ruff.
