Irwin Mitchell advises US buyer Taoglas on UK acquisition of Sure Antennas

Transaction underlines strength of UK market for foreign direct investment

Irwin Mitchell’s Corporate team has advised international antenna and RF solutions provider Taoglas on its acquisition of UK-based Sure Antennas, a specialist in vehicle communications systems for emergency services and mission-critical fleets.

Sure Antennas, part of the SFL Mobile Radio Holdings Group, designs and manufactures advanced antenna solutions primarily used in blue light and public safety settings. Its portfolio includes multi-function antennas designed for the UK’s Emergency Services Network (ESN), as well as integrated systems supporting communication, navigation and data services.

The transaction supports San Diego based Taoglas’ strategic expansion in the critical communications and automotive antenna markets, as demand accelerates for high-bandwidth LTE and 5G-enabled connectivity across public safety, defence and commercial fleet applications.

The Irwin Mitchell team was led by Bryan Bletso, who acted as supervising partner on the deal, and Alex Kyrychenko (Legal Director), supported by Deirbhile Lynam (Solicitor) and Doug Kitchen (Solicitor). The sellers were advised by HM3 Legal.

Taoglas is a portfolio company of US private investment firm Graham Partners.

Following completion, Sure Antennas will operate as ‘Sure Antennas, a Taoglas company’. Its existing operations in the UK and the Netherlands will continue, with all 45 employees joining Taoglas as part of the transaction.
