Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed Ricardo Geada as partner in its Regulatory team as it steps up investment in its fast-growing business team.

Joining from Lawrence Stephens, where he was Director and Head of Regulatory Solutions and Head of International, Ricardo is globally recognised for his specialist knowledge in the legal Medical Cannabis industry.

He has advised global cannabis companies on complex regulatory issues across the UK, EU, and international markets. Due to the nature of the emerging cannabis sector and the legal nuances involved, Richard has become a trusted advisor to the industry working closely with other legal departments such as Corporate & Commercial, Employment and Dispute Resolution to ensure his clients benefit from a full suite of legal services specifically tailored to their immediate business needs and future objectives.

Ricardo has also developed an interest and legal support and advice to clients involved crypto, digital assets and blockchain technology.

Based in Irwin Mitchell’s London office, Ricardo will report into National Head of Regulatory, Philip Somarakis.
